Article Marketing Tips – What’s Really Possible
Filed under: Article Writing; Tagged as: Article Writing, tips on article writing, writing an articleNo CommentsThis article was inspired by a very fascinating thread over at the Warrior Forum where a member claimed that it was possible to earn seven figures a year just from writing articles. While anything is possible, how likely is this to happen? Well, in the article you’re about to read, I’m going to go over the likely possibilities based on my several years of writing content for the Internet. Your mileage may vary.
The OP claims that if you write 1,000 articles a year, each one making 40 sales at $25 per sale, you can earn $1,000,000 a year writing articles. Okay, I guess the math is correct. But how likely is this? I don’t earn anywhere near this amount and I’ve got several thousand articles on the Internet. So what’s the problem? Am I just a total screwup? Well, let me answer that question this way.
My article marketing routine is quite simple. The first thing I do is research my niche to find out if there is any demand for a product in that niche. If so, I research the problem, solution sought and the product to see if I have a fit. I then write articles about the problem and direct people to the solution, which I usually have in the form of a review of the product or a newsletter where they can get more information.
I average about 10 to 20 opt ins per day. I make about 1 sale a month for each article I have out there. Certainly nowhere near 40. So what’s the problem? Is it my writing? Maybe. After all, I don’t claim to be the best writer in the world. Is it the niche I’ve chosen? Could very well be. After all, not every niche can be a winner. Is it the product I chose? That’s a definite possibility. Not all products are great.
Okay, do you see where I am going with this? Notice that there are a lot of variables involved with making sales, regardless of the method chosen. To hit the bulls eye with every single variable is extremely rare. Trust me, I know. I’ve been doing this for a long time. Sometimes the niche I chose either has too much competition to make a dent in or there isn’t enough demand. Sometimes I just write an article that isn’t the greatest thing in the world. Point is, with all the variables, the chances of seeing these kind of results are slim.
I do well as an article marketer. I write fairly well, know how to do niche research, know how to write a product review, know how to setup an AR series and know how to market. But seven figures a year? Sorry, but I don’t see that happening from just 1,000 articles from article marketing.
But then again, I guess anything is possible.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim
