Article Writing Tips – Getting a Guest Blogging Gig
Filed under: Article Writing; Tagged as: Article Writing, tips on article writing, writing an articleNo CommentsOne of the biggest problems article writers have is getting their work seen by the general public. Article directories, no matter how good they are, will only get you so much traffic, and if your own blog is brand new, you probably aren’t getting much traffic from it either. So how do you increase your exposure? Well, one of the best ways is to get a guest blogging gig. This article is going to explain what that is and what the best way is to go about getting one.
A guest blogging gig is where you write articles for other people’s blogs. It doesn’t even matter what the niche is. If you’re a real article writer, you can write for just about any niche. There are tons of people out there who are looking for content for their blogs simply because they don’t have the time to write it themselves. And, if they can get exclusive content, that makes it all the better for them. However, you don’t want to write for just any blog. You want to write for blogs that are getting decent traffic…and that’s where it gets a little tricky.
See, blogs that are popular, for the most part, don’t have to scrape for content. They probably have plenty of it. Still, they need to keep adding new content to stay on top of the search engines. However, because they are at the top already, or close to it, they can be picky with the content that they choose. So how do you get your foot in the door with these people?
The best way is to simply contact them and tell them that you are interested in writing for their blog exclusively, meaning that the content you provide them with will not be seen anywhere else. This will immediately get their attention. Then what you do is send them a sample of your work. I’d send a minimum of three articles so they can see what your writing style is. Send different topics if you can. If your writing is up to snuff, you’ll have a good shot at landing the gig.
In exchange, all you’ll ask for is a link back to your site. Tell them that they can monetize the article any way they like, such as promoting a product through it, service, or whatever. You’ll find that most site owners will be more than happy with this arrangement since it is not costing them anything.
Gradually, you’ll get more people to your site where you can then offer your article writing services to them or whatever it is you’re selling.
Give it a shot. You might be surprised at the results.
