Article Writing Tips – How to Write a Killer Resource Box
Filed under: Article Writing; Tagged as: Article Writing, tips on article writing, writing an articleNo CommentsFor those of you who are writing articles for the purpose of selling things online, your resource box is going to be just as important as the article itself, if not more so. The reason is simple. No matter how great the article is, if the resource box doesn’t do its job…getting the prospect to your site…then the article itself has been wasted. I’m going to show you the best way to write a resource box in order to get the most visitors to your sales page.
But before I do that, let me give you an example of a resource box that isn’t going to do the job at all.
“John Doe is an Internet marketer for 10 years and have written many books on the subject of Internet marketing. You can find some of them at his site at: sitename.”
The only thing this kind of resource box is going to do is put people to sleep. As much as this is going to be a blow to your ego, nobody cares who you are. They don’t care that you have 10 years of experience and they don’t care that you’ve written tons of books on the subject they’re interested in. What they care about is what YOU can do for THEM.
Having said that, here is the best way to hook your prospect in with your resource box. To begin with, you want to focus on the problem that they’re having. You want to remind them of the pain and suffering that they’re going through right now. Pain is a great motivator. Think about it, when you get a headache, what do you do? You run to get an aspirin or something. Well, that’s what your prospect will do when you remind them of their pain.
After you’ve reminded them of their pain, the next step is to tell them how they can relieve that pain. This is where you point them to your site immediately followed by the results that they’ll get if they follow through. This method is very effective and has worked for me for as long as I’ve been writing articles online for marketing purposes.
So as an example, using the same info as I gave you above, here is how I would write a resource box for somebody looking to make an income online.
“Tired of being broke? Sick of having to scrounge for every penny? Visit my site at sitename and discover how to make a full time income from the comfort of your home in 30 days or less.”
This is certainly going to get people to at least check out what you have to offer. Then, if your site or sales page has convincing enough copy, you should make the sale.
So the next time you’re struggling with a resource box for your article, try this method.
I think you’ll find the results quite satisfactory.
