Article Writing Tips – N is For Natural
Filed under: Article Writing; Tagged as: Article Writing, tips on article writing, writing an articleNo CommentsKeep those bets coming in folks. I’m going to win this one yet. In this installment of my series on article writing, A-Z, I am up to the word N, which happens to stand for natural. If you’re scratching your head wondering what I mean by writing naturally, this is actually one of the hottest topics when it comes to article writing and an area where I absolutely disagree with a lot of what’s going on out there. Confused? Well, keep reading and you’ll get it…loud and clear.
One of the things that the so called article writing “gurus” teach us, as article writers, is that our keyword has to appear so many time in our article…no matter what that keyword is. Well, let me ask you a question. Have you ever taken a look at some of the keywords that people look up? Try using some of them in a normal sentence and see if you don’t end up sounding like a complete fool. Trust me, with some of them, it is close to impossible.
And yet, the battle cry goes on…2% keyword saturation…or whatever the figure of the day is. Yeah, let’s see how you squeeze “marketing tips on how to advertise” into your article on Internet marketing. I think even Hemingway would have problems with that one.
Okay, so what’s the point? The point is actually a very simple one. Forget about all this BS about writing for search engines, because that’s all it is…BS. Write for people. It’s what I do. If you look through the majority of my articles, you’ll be hard pressed to find anything that even remotely resembles a keyword, unless it’s purely by accident. I write naturally. In other words, I write as if I were writing to a friend and trying to teach him something and not like I’m trying to impress the search engines.
Trust me, you write something that actually says something and means something and the search engines will be impressed…not to mention your readers. If you can naturally fit a keyword phrase into your article, great…that’s gravy on the mashed potatoes. But if you can’t, don’t sweat it.
There are plenty of other ways to get your articles read.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim
