    Article Writing Tips – The Purpose of Your Article

    Filed under: Article Writing;

    You know, some people, when they write an article, just sit down and start writing. They have no idea what they’re going to say or why they’re saying it. Then, after they’re done, they realize that the purpose of the article itself wasn’t fulfilled. If you’re having a hard time wrapping your head around that, don’t worry, I’m going to explain with some examples. Hopefully, you won’t make these mistakes when writing any kind of article for any kind of purpose.

    Let’s start with something straight forward. You’re writing an article on acne and your purpose is to tell your readers what causes acne, what it is, and how to treat it. So basically, this is a factual article. And then, you end up telling people about your trials and tribulations with acne and how you feel about it. You devote very little time to the actual telling of the facts. In this case, the purpose of your article has been defeated. Readers don’t want to hear about your feelings. They want the facts, if in fact that’s what your purpose was.

    How about this as an example? You’re writing an article for marketing purposes. In other words, you’re hoping that the article will have the reader follow it all the way through to the end where your resource box will direct them to your sales page so that you can ultimately make a sale. Now, in order to do that, you can’t give them too much info in the article itself. So what do you do? You do just that. You tell the reader everything that they need to know and thus have no reason to go to your sales page. Again, the purpose of your article, to make a sale, was defeated.

    Article writers make this mistake all the time. They don’t sit down and think about what they want to say and how they should say it in order to get the desired result. Well, hopefully, this article will get you to sit down and think this over before you write your next article.

    As for the purpose of THIS article, I think it’s crystal clear.
