Article Writing Tips – Writing on Sub Topics
Filed under: Article Writing; Tagged as: Article Writing, tips on article writing, writing an articleNo CommentsOne of the biggest problems that article writers have is diving into a topic and writing more than just a few articles on it. After a while, they run out of ideas. It happens to the best of us…even me. Well, in this article, I’m going to give you some ideas for writing more articles than you can share a stick at by writing on sub topics of the main one. I think you will find this article most informative and helpful.
To best understand how to do this, the best way is through example. Nothing is better than example. So let’s start out with a very broad topic…TV. Let’s say you have a site about TV shows or things related to TV. Well, for starters, you could write about every current show on the tube. But what happens when you’ve run out of shows? It’s going to happen eventually.
Next we move on to the actors and actresses. We can write about all of them. That’s another few hundred articles we can write. But wait, what happens when we run out of them? Well, what about TV writers, directors and producers? There have been many famous ones that we could write about with no problem. But eventually we’re going to run out of those.
But that’s okay, because we’re not even close to being done. What about writing about TV genres? We could write about science fictions, westerns, crime shows, and so on. Do you have any idea how many genres there are to write about? That’s got to be good enough for another 20 or 30 articles at least.
Ah, but we’re still not done. What about writing about eras? We could write about the whole history of TV from the 50s all the way to today. We could write about how TV changed over the years, how at one time things that you couldn’t say or do on TV are now common place.
What about technology? Certainly the technology of the medium has changed over the years, from the way shows were recorded and broadcast to the actual TV sets themselves. Today we have flat screen and plasma TVs. Back in the old days, it was tubes.
I could keep going but I think you get the idea. Take a broad topic and break it down into as many sub topics as you can. If you think long and hard enough, you’ll find that you can write articles on that main topic for years and years to come.
