Copywriting Tips – 3 Ways To Overcome Objections

    Filed under: Copywriting; Tagged as:

Overcoming objections to buying the product is one of the toughest things that a copywriter faces. Prospects will come up with all sorts of reasons why they can’t buy the product that your salescopy is promoting. So you have to be able to overcome their objections with your sales copy. If you can do this, you’ll greatly increase the number of sales that your sales letter generates. This article is going to go over 3 ways to overcome objections that should help you a great deal.

One of the biggest objections that prospects have to buying an item is the price. They simply say that they can’t afford it. It doesn’t even matter what the price is. It can be $27 or $227. They’ll find some way of justifying that it’s too much money. So, how do you overcome this objection? The best way is simply to show them what it would cost them in time or in other expenses if they don’t get the product. Another way is to show them what comparable products cost and how your product is the best bargain.

Another big objection is time. Prospects are afraid that they’re not going to have the time to either learn how to use the product or use it themselves. This is where you have to assure them, first of all, that learning to use the product takes virtually no time at all. Equate it to how long it would take to learn a simple skill. As far as using the product itself, show them how using it will save them time in the long run in comparison to how much time they would spend if they did the task involved without the product.

Then of course there is the objection of them simply not believing you. Let’s face it…many prospects are simply going to be skeptical because they’ve been lied to so many times. Well, there are a couple of ways to overcome this objection. One way is to offer a great guarantee. This way, if they’re not satisfied, they know they can return the product. Another way is to show testimonials of satisfied customers. Your prospects may not believe you, but they might believe them.

These few simple tips will greatly help overcome any objections that your prospects might have.
