Copywriting Tips – Getting Your Prospect’s Attention
Filed under: Copywriting; Tagged as: Copywriting, copywriting course, Copywriting tips, copywriting tips for beginners, learn copywritingNo CommentsOne of the hardest things in the world to do, anywhere, is to get someone’s attention. The number of distractions that any one person gets bombarded with are off the charts…everything from TV to radio to the cell phone glued to their ear. I never thought I’d ever see so many people walking down the street talking on the phone. Well, if you think it’s any easier to get someone’s attention when they’re plopped down in front of their computer reading YOUR sales message, think again. Getting your prospect’s attention is harder than ever. This article is going to provide you with a few tips that will make the job a lot easier.
For starters, when a prospect visits your sales page, they need to be hit with your best shot right away. That means presenting them with a headline that grabs them by the throat and doesn’t let go. It has to literally be the answer to their prayers or they’re not going to stick around for the rest. If the headline does its job, at least you have a chance of keeping them around for the payoff.
After the headline, you need a compelling story. You need to draw the prospect into your world and at the same time make the message about them and what YOU can do for them. They really don’t care about your troubles, but by explaining how you went through the same things that they’re going through now, they can relate better and ultimately be more inclined to believe the solution that you’re going to present them with.
After you’ve drawn them into your world, then you can hit them with all the bullet points, features and benefits of your offer. At this point in time, they’ll be willing to listen to what you have to say once they’ve decided that you can really help them. That’s why the first one-third of your sales copy is probably the most important part next to the close. If you lose them at the beginning, they won’t be around for the close.
Finally, you need to close the deal with an offer that they can’t refuse. That means the right price and the right guarantee. Sometimes your guarantee can make or break your copy. Many sales letters with one year guarantees do very well simply because of the powerful guarantee. Double your money back works very well too.
Getting your prospect’s attention is not easy, but if you follow these few simple tips, it doesn’t have to be so hard.
