    Copywriting Tips – Hot Headline Hints

    Filed under: Copywriting;

    Okay, let’s really get into the nuts and bolts of headlines and how to make one that is so red hot on fire that your prospect has no choice but to read the rest of the copy. There are many ways to go about doing this. The article you’re about to read is going to give you just a few of the many techniques you can use to write killer headlines every time. Keep reading to find out more.

    One way to write a great headline is with the promise. If you make a promise to your prospect right off the bat, he’s going to want to at least read on to see how you’re going to fulfill that promise. Curiosity gets the better of all of us and in this case…no exception.

    So as an example, let’s say you were selling a product that is a stain remover. You could begin your sales copy with the following headline…

    “XYZ Stain Remover Will Remove Any Stain On Any Fabric In 5 Seconds…Guaranteed!”

    Now, that’s a pretty bold promise there. Any stain on any fabric in just five seconds and they guarantee it. You don’t think that a prospect is going to keep reading to find out more? Of course they will. That’s what a great headline does.

    Another way to get prospects to read the rest of your copy is with a headline that tells them that they’re going to learn something very important regarding whatever it is that they’re looking for. While we don’t actually like the learning process, and I’ll show you how to cover this up, we do like to get information.

    So let’s say you had a product that was going to teach somebody how to reduce their credit card debt. Let’s face it, credit card debt is a big problem in the USA. So a headline like the following one might just do the trick as far as getting prospects to read further.

    “Discover How To Eliminate Your Credit Card Debt In 30 Days Or Less.”

    That’s quite a bold statement, especially if somebody has credit card debt that is very large. Ironically, the larger that debt for the person reading this, the more likely they are going to be to keep reading because you have just possibly given them the answer to their problem.

    Writing a good headline all comes down to giving the prospect what he wants and telling him what that is right in the first line.

    That’s what makes him keep reading.
