Copywriting Tips – How to Present the Price
Filed under: Copywriting; Tagged as: Copywriting, copywriting course, Copywriting tips, copywriting tips for beginners, learn copywritingNo CommentsJust tell me how much the darn thing costs already. That’s the attitude of a lot of people. They just want to know how much the item costs as that’s solely how they’re going to make their decision as to whether or not to buy. Like it or not, some people are like that. But either way, whether it’s those folks or the ones who way other factors, presenting price in salescopy is an art. There are many ways to go about presenting price. This article will go over a few.
One way is to just be direct about it. This will usually work with items that are very low in price. There is no point in beating around the bush. If you’re selling a $10 item, how much coaxing do you really have to do? So, if that’s the case, after describing the item, you can simply say something like, “You can have all this for just $10.” Notice I use the word “just.” This implies that the item is priced low. Leaving it out will make a big difference in the conversion. It’s psychological, but it works.
Another way is to show the person what you could have sold the product for. I’m sure you’ve seen this tactic on many sales pages. It goes something like this…
“I could easily sell this package for $97, $197, or even $297. But you won’t have to pay that much for what I’m giving you here. You can literally steal this from me for one low payment of $67.”
By using this approach, you make the prospect see that they are getting a true bargain. If they believe that the product could be sold for as much as $297, then selling it for $67 makes the prospect believe that he is getting real value for very little.
Finally, what you could do is add up the various parts of the product, especially if it’s a number of ebooks. I’m sure you’ve seen this tactic as well. The copywriter shows a box with each book and a dollar value next to each one. At the bottom, he adds up the amounts and shows how much the package could be sold for. He then presents the actual price. This is a very effective approach.
The above tactics should be more than enough for you to be able to present YOUR price in the best light.
To YOUR Success,
