Copywriting Tips – Is Your Sales Page an Eyesore?
Filed under: Copywriting; No CommentsSo many copywriters spend so much time focusing on the written word that they fail to take care of the actual look of their sales page. If the page itself is an eyesore, nobody is going to stay at it long enough to read what you have to say. So, in this article, I am going to go over a few things that you should do to make sure that your sales page looks as good as it can. These simple tips will make those words look even better than they actually are.
At the very top of the list is the template of your sales page. If you’re tempted to scrimp on these, don’t. Take a look at some of the top selling products at the Clickbank marketplace. You’ll notice that the templates are as good as the copy itself. Okay, so you’re an expert wordsmith but you know nothing about page design. No problem. Either get somebody to custom make a template for you or buy a ready made one. There are plenty of them out there and they don’t cost an arm and a leg.
After the template, you want to concentrate on the graphics. If you’re selling digital information products, you’re going to need ecovers. Don’t scrimp on these either. Really good ones use action scripts compatible with Adobe Photoshop, which is probably the best graphics creation tool out there. If you can’t make these yourself, again, contract somebody to make them for you. Remember, you’re making a pretty penny from your sales letter so don’t be cheap here.
Finally, there are your testimonials. The best testimonials come with photos. So when you get one from a person who tested the product, don’t forget to ask them if they can send you a photo. Some folks won’t have one and that’s fine. But the more photos you get, the more professional your testimonials will look.
If you do these few simple things, you’ll be surprised how much better your sales page will look. In the process, you’ll get more prospects to spend more time AT your page, thus making you more sales.
And that, as they say, is the name of the game.
