Copywriting Tips – Overcoming Objections With Your Sales Letter
Filed under: Copywriting; Tagged as: Copywriting, copywriting course, Copywriting tips, copywriting tips for beginners, learn copywritingNo CommentsAs a copywriter, one of the main things you need to be able to do with your copy is overcome objections that the prospect is going to have to buying your product. There are many objections that people have when it comes to buying anything. I’m sure you have them yourself when you look at a sales page. In this article, I’m going to go over a few of these objections and show you how to best overcome them in order to ultimately convince the prospect to purchase your product or service.
One of the main objections that prospects have is that they don’t have enough time to use your product. This is where you need to show them how not using the product is going to cost them time. For example, let’s say it’s a piece of software to do their taxes. Show the prospect how long it would take to do their taxes manually and then show them how long it would take using the software. They can do the math themselves but if you actually do the subtraction for them, they’ll see with their own two eyes how much time they’ll save. Make it as clear as black and white.
Another big objection is that they can’t afford your product or that they don’t have enough money to use it. This is where you have to show them the cost of not using your product. For example, let’s take the whole tax software situation. It may cost $49.95 for the software, but doing your taxes manually can cost you thousands of dollars in items that you didn’t think to deduct because you didn’t have a piece of software to walk you through the process. You need to point this out in the sales letter.
Then of course there is the objection that it can’t work for them, that they’re not skilled enough to use your product or service. The best way to overcome this objection is to show them testimonials from those who have already used it telling about how easy it is to use and that in does in fact work. Testimonials are very powerful in convincing prospects that your product is something that they should have.
There are others, but these three should get you started. The more objections you overcome, the more sales you’ll make.
