I hate to have to say this, but some affiliate marketers are lazy. I’m sorry, but it’s true. I look and see what it is they do to promote their products and it’s laughable. They put in the bare minimum of effort and then expect to be rolling in dough the next day. Guess what? It doesn’t work that way. Well, in this article, I’m going to show you how to go that extra mile. If you want to be successful, you’ll take these words to heart.

First, let’s see if I pretty much have a clue as to what the lazy affiliate marketer does. You head on over to Clickbank, pick out the top selling product…doesn’t matter what it is…and then go put up a blog somewhere with a brief post and a link, ping the blog and then sit back and wait for all the people to come to it. That’s one lazy scenario. There are plenty of others. Well, if that’s your modus operandi, you might as well head on over to McDonald’s and fill out an application.

For starters, picking out the top Clickbank product for a beginning affiliate marketer is suicide. With gravities of 300 or greater, the chances of you getting any piece of that pie are slim to none. You can’t compete with that many marketers and put in the kind of effort that you do. You’ll be lucky if you make one or two sales a month. That’s certainly not something you can live on.

Then of course there are your tactics, or lack of them. Putting up a blog with some BS about the product and a link, and then pinging, is not going to bring you tons of traffic. You’ve got to do a lot more than that. And no, you don’t have to run expensive pay per click campaigns. There are plenty of things you can do. Like what?

Well, how about making a video and uploading it to Youtube? Why not write a few articles and submit them to directories? Have the resource boxes pointing to a review on your blog. Why not put up a Squidoo lens with some information on the topic? While you’re at it, why not create a hub page and write about your niche? There are so many things you can do. Choose a few and get cracking.

As an affiliate marketer, you can’t just sit on your backside and do nothing. All that is going to get you is nothing.
