Did you ever have a product that was really great yet you just couldn’t bring yourself to promote it? Believe it or not, it happens. And if you have very strong ethics, you’re going to run into this situation from time to time. In this article, I’m going to share a very specific example so that you’ll know just what I’m talking about. After reading this, I’m sure you’ll understand. Or maybe not. Time will tell.

I get approached to sell a lot of affiliate products. Some I promote because I really think they’re great, some I don’t promote because they’re pure garbage, but some I don’t promote because, even though they’re good products, there is something about them that makes it so that I can’t bring myself to promote it. This just happened recently to me. And ironically, it’s a product I actually contributed to.

See, the product is fine. There is a lot of great info in it. But the problem is, there is too much and in not enough detail. So if you’re a total newbie, you’re going to get totally lost and ultimately just let it sit on your hard drive and collect electrons. Because of that, I couldn’t in good conscience promote it, at least not to totally new marketers. So what I did was make it perfectly clear that to make the most of the product, you needed to have a good solid marketing foundation under you.

Now I know a lot of affiliate marketers will simply look at it as a good product and promote it, even if they realize that certain people will not be able to make the best use of it. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not judging these people. However, if you promote a product and are really honest about what you think of it, guess what’s going to happen? You’re going to probably end up making more sales than you would have because of your honesty. Yes, believe it or not, I actually had people ask for my affiliate link because of my honesty.

A lot of affiliate marketers don’t agree with the totally honest approach. I’m not here to pass judgment. However, if you were to consider using this approach in your reviews and promotions, you just might find that your affiliate sales actually increase.
