If you can at least avoid these, you’ll give yourself a decent chance at being a successful affiliate marketer.

Probably the biggest mistake that beginning affiliate marketers make is what I call “jumping on the bandwagon”. You know what I mean. I’m sure you’ve done it yourself. Not sure? Well, here’s how it works. Some new product comes out. It’s promoted all over the place by the product creator, not to make sales, but to recruit affiliates. Then, one day later, the product ends up number one at Clickbank with a gravity of 300 or more. Seeing this, you figure this is an easy seller and jump all over it. And then you find out that it isn’t so easy and you wonder what went wrong.

Well, it’s pretty simple. See, when you’re going against that many affiliates, there is just too much noise on the Internet. You can’t break through it. The only ones who really do are the ones with monster sized lists. The average affiliate marketer doesn’t have a chance. That’s you. This is why I tell affiliates not to jump on the hottest product out there. Trust me, easier products to sell DO exist. You just have to find them.

The mistakes that affiliate marketers make are mind boggling. And to be perfectly fair, it’s not their fault. Nobody really teaches this stuff. Most people have to go out there and figure it out on their own, just like I did. But make no mistake about it…there is a right and wrong way to go about picking and promoting affiliate products.

You just have to find out which is which.
