Affiliate Marketing Tips – How to Review an Affiliate Product
No CommentsI have found, from my own personal experience, that the best way to promote affiliate products is to put up a review of the product on a blog or some web site. The problem that many affiliate marketers have is that they don’t know how to properly review a product. That’s where this article is going to try to fill in some of the details. After reading this, you should have a pretty decent idea of how to put up a review that will generate sales.
I use a format that is very simple and straight forward, but it gets the job done. No need to complicate a process that is really very simple. Here it is.
First thing I do in the review is tell the person that this is going to be a review of the product. If they are reading the blog, then most likely they got their from one of my articles or ads that said something like, “Read my review of…” and then the product name. So they are at the page itself because they want to read the review. By telling them that’s what it is, they know they’re in the right place. Sounds trivial, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t do this.
Next thing I do is tell them that I’m going to completely go over what the product has in detail. And when I say “in detail” I mean it. I leave nothing out. Depending on how involved the product is, this can be very short or very long. Don’t try to stretch things out or condense them. Write what you need to write…no more and no less.
Next, I give the prospect my pros and cons of the product. Unless you’ve just discovered a cure for cancer, there has to be something about the product that you don’t like or feel could be better. You must include cons in your review. The reason is simple. It makes the review more believable than if you just rave about the product. This will actually produce more sales for you in the long run.
Finally, I give the product an overall rating, something like on a scale of 1-5. This also gives more credibility to the review. I rarely give anything a 5. I mean be honest, how many things in this world are absolutely perfect. After the rating, I give them a link to the sales page, naturally using my affiliate link.
As I said, it’s a simple process. Don’t over-complicate it. If you follow this system, you should have no problem turning your product reviews into sales.
