This is kind of a rant against affiliate marketers. So if you don’t like hearing people mouth off, you might not want to read this. But if you’re an affiliate marketer and you’re not having any success, or not having the success that you’d like, the problem may just be in the ads that you’re writing…or not writing. If that sounds a little confusing, don’t worry. I’ll explain everything in this article that hopefully, you’ll read and get something out of.

Probably the biggest mistake that beginning affiliate marketers make with their ads is that they don’t write them. Tell me if this doesn’t sound familiar. You seek out the website of the product you want to promote and look for affiliate tools…primarily canned ads. These are the ads that the merchant has put together for all his lazy affiliates to use. Why? Because they’re all lazy affiliates and he knows it. Problem is, when all the affiliates use the same ads, nobody’s ads stand out. So making sales is literally a crap shoot.

For the affiliates who DO create their own ads, they’re about as original as white bread. Basically what they do is take the shell of a canned ad and make some changes to it. Usually, if you look at the ad closely enough, you can tell it was taken from another ad. There are enough similarities that you just know it was a rip off. While this is a step up from using a canned ad as is, it’s not much better and isn’t going to bring you the kind if sales that a truly original ad will bring.

And that’s the key. You have to be original. Not just with your ads but with how you put them out on the Internet. Even the mediums you use should be original and fresh. While this does take a little bit of thought, it will pay off for you in the long run. While I am primarily a product creator, I do enough affiliate marketing to earn me several thousand dollars a month…with very little effort.
