Affiliate Marketing Tips – Spying on Your Competition
No CommentsAffiliate marketing is a dog eat dog world. Every affiliate is scrapping and clawing for every morsel he can get. Because of this, it is important to be able to get a leg up on your competition. One of the best ways to do this is simply by spying on them. See, the beauty of this business is that everything is out in the open. You just have to know where to look. This article is going to show you how to spy on other affiliates promoting the products YOU want to sell and make sure that you’re finding out the best techniques.
Before I continue, this is why when people ask me, “Are there any secrets to marketing?” I tell them know. The reason is because the very nature of the word itself means that whatever is done is done out in the open. Think about it. When somebody runs some kind of an ad campaign, it’s there for the purpose of people seeing it…not just the prospects but the competitors as well. Of course the marketer doesn’t want the competitor to see, but it’s out of his hands.
Okay, so how do we spy? It’s so simple really that it’s a joke. Just go to Google and look up the product, not the niche, but the product you want to promote. If it’s not brand new, meaning nobody has it yet, there are going to be sites out there promoting it. Take a look at the ones at the top of the search results, both paid for and free. You will probably notice a few things about these ads and sites.
For one, the top sites will probably have a great review of the product itself. It might even have a video testimonial. For that matter, you will probably find videos about the product up at YouTube. Take a look at the number of views. If they’re considerable, then it’s a safe bet that this video is bringing lots of people to the web site or affiliate sales page.
Take a look at the top paid ads. Look at how they’re worded. These ads are probably very successful. Simply make a note of the style and understand what makes the ad work. Then, incorporate that style into your own ad campaign. Make a note of the sites that the ads are sending people to. What kind of landing page is it? What’s on it? These are the things that probably made that landing page successful.
Like I said, it’s all out there. All you have to do is look to see what the other successful affiliates are doing and emulate it.
There are no secrets in marketing…not if you know where to look.
