You know what the problem with affiliate marketing is? It’s too impersonal. Sometimes I feel like I’m being greeted by a robot at the corner of PC and Mac. What happened to customer service? What happened to real live human beings behind those sales pages? Do you ever get a response from an email sent to one of these people? Well, if you’re into affiliate marketing and want to increase your sales, the personal touch is the way to do it. The best way is with the recommendation. This article explains.

Now, when I say recommendation, I don’t just mean to say to somebody, “Hey Joe, this product is really great. You should get it.” That’s not a recommendation. That’s a joke. No, a real recommendation is a lot more rich in content than just “hey, buy this product.” It is almost like being a sales person in a very ritzy store and giving a customer the 50 cent tour. By the time they’re done, they feel like they’ve been treated like a king. That’s how you have to make your prospects feel…like you REALLY care about them. How do you do this?

For starters, tell them about what the product does in general. You want them to get a pretty decent idea of what it is they’re going to be getting. Then, if they’re still interested, tell them what you like about the product. Tell them what features you find the most attractive. But don’t stop there. Tell them what you don’t like and wish they had made differently. Trust me, your prospect will be shocked that you’ve said anything bad about a product that you’re trying to sell to them.

Finally, tell them how you feel the product will help them, whether it’s in saving them time, money or whatever. Let them know who you think will best benefit by this product, that it might not be for everybody. And last but not least, ask them if they have any questions about anything you’ve shared with them. If you’ve covered the bases that I’ve gone over in this article, they should have few, if any questions at all.

Selling affiliate products is not hard if you use the personal approach. This can easily be accomplished by a genuine product review on your site or blog. Sure, it will require some outlay of cash to buy the product, unless you can get the merchant to give you a review copy, but in the end, it WILL increase sales simply because you’ve gone above and beyond what most people do.

Try it sometime. You might be surprised by the results.
