I have found, through my six years of affiliate marketing, that the best way to make affiliate sales is with product reviews that are real reviews and not sales pitches. Problem is, many affiliate marketers don’t really know how to review a product, and thus the review itself turns out to be a walking disaster. Well, it is the intent of this article to give you some tips on just how to write a product review so that you will have the best chance of making the sale at the end of it all.

First of all, let me start out by saying that a product review is just that…a review of the product. Any commentary that you have, not based on the product itself, is irrelevant. Don’t muddy the waters with a bunch of dribble that has no relevance to the matter at hand. Just get down to the review of your prospect is going to close up your page so fast, you won’t know what happened.

Start the review with a brief introduction to what the product is and what it does, or is supposed to do. If it’s an info product, say “This product will show you…” and then whatever the product reveals. This way, the prospect knows if they even want to read the review or not. Hey, no sense wasting their time. If you tell them up front what they’re going to be reading, they’ll thank you for it.

Next, you want to go over the pluses of the product. What do you like about it? Where do you feel the strengths lie? Focus on a few key areas that you feel are exceptionally good. After you have gone over the pluses, go over what you DON’T like. This is very important. It gives the review a lot more credibility. And trust me, nothing is perfect. There is always going to be something about every product that you wish was better, even if it’s just the price.

At the end of the review, give a rating from one to five stars. I don’t suggest giving five stars unless you really mean it. Sometimes a four or four and a half star rating will carry more weight because it seems more real.

There is an art to reviewing a product. The truth is, however, if you’re just honest, THAT is what will come across to the prospect and you’ll give yourself the best chance of making the sale at the end of it all.
