Affiliate marketers crack me up. They think that they can promote any old thing in the world without having the slightest idea of whether or not it’s any good and still have success promoting it. Look, I know if you’re selling dog food you can’t test it yourself. But heck, you can give it to your dog and see if he gobbles it up or walks away from the bowl in disgust. Point is, the best way to make affiliate sales is when you’re an actual use of the product.

I could have actually ended this article right there, but some people need to have things beaten into their heads, so I’ll elaborate on this. I’ll also show you how you can actually use the product and not even have to pay for it. No, it’s not illegal what I’m going to show you. As a matter of fact, plenty of affiliate marketers do it. The key is how you go about it.

Anyway, let me expand on why using a product is so important. See, when you use something, you can intelligently talk about it. You can tell people what you like and don’t like. Yes, you should include what you don’t like about the product. It gives your review some credibility. I mean for crying out loud, you don’t want your review to sound like just another sales pitch. I actually hope I find something about the product I don’t like. It makes my job a lot easier.

Okay, so how do you get these products for nothing? Simple, you ask for them. That’s right, you contact the product creator and say, “Look man, I’m a successful affiliate marketer and I want to promote your product but I don’t promote anything I haven’t used myself. So can you send me a review copy?” For one thing, the guy’s going to respect your integrity. For another, he wants to make more sales and it doesn’t cost him a thing to give you a copy. So trust me, 9 times out of 10, you’ll get your review copy.

So there you go. This is an excellent way to make more affiliate sales because it gives you more credibility.
