No names are going to be mentioned in this article so that there is no possibility that it won’t get published. But affiliate marketers, you guys who use articles to market your products, you are hereby being put on notice. It is time to clean up your act or suffer the consequences. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, you might want to read this article. It just may save your skin.

Just recently, a blog post surfaced putting affiliate marketers who use articles to market on notice. In a nutshell, what the blog post said was that the content thin articles that were being submitted to get somebody to a sales page would no longer be tolerated. In other words, the gravy train has stopped running. It’s time to clean up your act and start submitting quality content.

Now, I could probably leave it at that and move on, but then this wouldn’t be much of an article, would it? So let me further define what quality content is. It’s an article that, when the reader actually reads it, goes away saying, “Thank you…that really helped me.” See, too many article marketers forget that there are REAL people on the other end who NEED help. They’re not there to be marketed to. They’re there to be helped. Put yourself in the place of the person YOU’RE trying to reach. How would YOU like it if all you got was a poor excuse at marketing and no substance at all? I don’t think you’d be very happy about it.

It’s time we stopped thinking ONLY about the all mighty dollar and actually thought about helping the people we’re trying to market to. It’s no crime to make a living. We all have to unless we had some rich uncle who left us a fortune. But there IS a crime in making a living off of the kind of garbage that people try to pass off as content. Heck, some of it…you can’t even read.

Stop spinning the same article over and over. How about at least adding SOMETHING new and different to the mix? Sure, I know there is only so much you can write about a topic. I am slowly reaching the point where I will someday stop writing. But then you guys go and pull stunts like these that get directory owners all teed up and give me yet MORE stuff to write about.

Bottom line is this. Say something in your article that will actually HELP the person reading it. Give facts that you can back up and then, if you offer your opinion, state that it’s YOUR opinion…NOT somebody else’s. I won’t even get into the writers who use other people’s words as their own. I’ve always been very opinionated and outspoken so there is no confusing me with somebody else.

THAT is how YOU should be writing and not just regurgitating the same old nonsense over and over.

Contrary to popular opinion, the article directories are NOT there for you to spam with your dribble. They are there to provide a service to the people who need information. And if you think the article directories can’t live without you…think again. There are plenty of people WILLING to write quality articles in order to keep these directories in business. They don’t need YOU and your miserable excuse for writing.

Anyway, that’s it. I’m getting off my soapbox now. Take this as a fair warning. The article directories, at least the good ones, aren’t going to put up with poor quality submissions any longer.
