Email Marketing Tips – Why Your Emails Aren’t Worth Spit

I knew that title would get your attention. Well, now that I’ve gotten it, it’s time to tell you exactly WHY your emails aren’t worth spit. Hopefully, after reading this, you’ll be able to put together an email campaign to your prospects that might actually get you some sales. So get out your pens and pads and get ready to take some notes.

Okay, first reason your emails aren’t worth spit is because your subjects suck. You either send stuff that is boring as heck (An Important Message), worn out and overused (Bad News) or outright lies (Payment Received). So right out of the gate, you’ve doomed yourself to failure. Nobody is going to take these subjects seriously and when they do find out you’re lied to them, they’re going to put you on their banned list for life.

Another reason why your emails aren’t worth spit is because you don’t give these people anything of value. Every single one is nothing but sales pitch after sales pitch. Buy my product! How about giving your prospects something like a free report or a newsletter that actually teaches them something before you try digging into their wallets? You might find that you get a lot better results.

Finally, the last reason your emails aren’t worth spit is because they’re not even reaching your prospects in the first place. You’ve stuffed them so full of words that trip up the spam filters that they don’t get delivered. These are words that are easy enough to check for by simply going to an online spam checker and running your email through it BEFORE you actually send it out. You might find that if you remove some of these spam words that your emails at least reach their intended audience.

There are actually more reasons why your emails aren’t worth spit, like they’re boring as all heck, but the above three items should be enough to get you started. Concentrate on spicing up your subjects, offer some valuable content and check for spam words, and you’ll find that your emails get you a whole lot better response.
