Ezine Publishing Tips – Finding a Theme
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsSo, you’re thinking about publishing your first ezine, or maybe you’ve already started but feel that you’re floundering with no direction. Well, part of the problem may be that you don’t have a theme for your ezine. This is something that is very important and easily correctable. In this article, I’m going to show you how to come up with a them and plan content around it. I think you will find this helpful.
First thing you have to do is write down the niche that you’re targeting. It is important to understand just who your target market is. If you don’t know who you’re writing for, how can you write things that they’re going to be interested in. After you get the main niche down, you need to then dig a little deeper and write down the sub niche. For example, let’s say you’re writing for people who are interested in chess. Well, that’s all well and good. But chess can cover a lot of areas.
For example, there are people who want to learn how to play the game itself and learn strategies. Then there are those who are interested in the history of the game and learning about old matches. Then there are those who are interested in chess sets and are always on the lookout for rare or every expensive sets that they can pick up. Reviews of such sets would be something they’d appreciate. Point is, you need to dig down to the very core of your niche.
After you have figured out just what it is that your target market is interested in, you can then plan your ezine around it. For example, if your target market is interested in learning the game, you can write a whole series of ezine articles starting with how to setup the pieces and how they move to the most complex strategies. In theory, you have enough material to probably publish an ezine to each subscriber for years to come. The key to doing this is understanding what it is your subscriber is interested in.
For the above series, I might name my ezine theme something like “Chess Strategy – A-Z”. This will trigger a vision in your prospect’s head that they’re probably going to learn everything there is to know about the game. That’s what you want to get across.
Finding a theme isn’t hard if you follow the above process.
