Home Business Tips – Another Story About Self Destruction
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsIt never ceases to amaze me the stupid things that home business owners will do. In case you don’t know this, there is really only one product that you have that is worth anything…your integrity. This article is going to share yet another story of a home business owner who has basically self destructed their business in a heartbeat. The names will be withheld to protect the guilty and the stupid. Please don’t do this with YOUR home business unless you’re planning on retiring to an island somewhere that has no extradition treaty.
A well respected marketer just ran a special offer for the forum where I attend. In this offer, he put up screen prints of his income. Well, a sharp member noticed that the screen prints were doctored. This was the first hit to the person’s credibility, but it doesn’t stop there. After getting caught, this person yanked the bogus screen print, put up a new one (who knows if it was legit or not) and then ran the offer at another forum. In the meantime, this person ignored all refund requests and all forms of communication.
In short…they destroyed their credibility as a home business owner. Just like that.
Okay, why am I telling you this story? There’s a simple explanation. So many people think that the most important thing about starting and running a home business is the product that they sell, or how they market it or how good their sales page is, or whatever. The truth is, the most important part of YOUR business is YOU and YOUR integrity. If you pull something like this idiot pulled, it’s not going to matter how great your product is, how much advertising you do or how wonderful your sales page is. Your reputation will be shot and your business will seriously suffer.
I’ve been told that I can be a real pompous ass. I’m opinionated, outspoken and at times, a bit rude, especially with people who waste my time with nonsense. But one thing I will NEVER do is cheat people or lie to them. I’d rather lose a sale than tell somebody something that’s not true…and believe me, I’ve had to tell plenty of people that my product won’t help them because they need to know how to write a coherent English sentence first.
Point is, if you don’t have your integrity, you have nothing.
Please remember that the next time you think about faking an income screen print or whatever else you might be thinking of doing that you know just isn’t right.
To YOUR Success,
