It might sound like a stupid question. Who in their right mind would be afraid of having success with their home business? Well, believe it or not, there are people who are afraid of succeeding. Not only that, there are certain things that these people do that are common among those afraid of success. In this article, I am going to share a few of the most common signs that you might be afraid of success. Don’t be surprised if you exhibit more than one of these traits. They are quite common.

At the top of the list is what I call the procrastination predicament. This is when you have all these great plans on just how you’re going to setup your home business and yet you never get around to doing them. You write everything out, maybe even start to plan. But it ultimately ends up as just a lot of talk. You probably never get around to doing more than just buying your computer. And then after that, checking email and hitting the search engines is all you ever do…day after day. This may be a sign that you’re afraid of success.

Another sign that you might be afraid of success is that you jump around from one thing to another and buy all these how to books and other products. You’re the professional student. You’re learning everything you can about advertising, writing and so on, but you never do anything with it. You have all these books that end up sitting on your hard drive. You then join all these programs and promise to start promoting them but you never get around to doing it. Then, the next new program comes out and you join that one. You never commit yourself to just one thing. This is another sign that you might be afraid of success.

Finally, and this is one that’s hard to admit, you’re literally scared. You start to see some success and you start wondering what you’re going to do if your business takes off. Will you be able to handle the work? Are you really good enough to do this? You start to actually doubt your abilities. You don’t get excited about the future. You’re petrified to face it. Nobody will ever admit to this one, but if you’re honest with yourself, you’ll realize that it is a great possibility.

Truth is, we’re all a little afraid of success to a degree. We wonder how it will change us. Even I worried about that at first. And yes, it has changed me. I admit it. I’m more confident now. I also realize that I know enough to truly help people. That’s a great feeling. So don’t be afraid of success. Embrace it. And who knows…maybe someday YOU’LL be in a position to help somebody too.
