Home Business Tips – Are You Building A Real Business?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsDon’t look at me like I just asked you if you have two heads. You’d be surprised how many people DON’T build real businesses. What they build are random income streams and pray to God that they add up to some kind of income that will pay their bills. That is NOT building a business. Okay, don’t know the difference. In this article, I’m going to give you examples of each so you can see the difference for yourself. Then YOU can answer the question of whether or not you’re building a REAL business.
Okay, here’s an example of something that is NOT a real business. You put up a site with a few articles on Madonna. You then sign up for an AdSense account. You put AdSense ads on your site and then go out and write some more articles and submit them to directories. The people see the articles, maybe go to your site afterwards and then maybe click on the AdSense ads and you make a few cents. You keep doing this over and over and eventually you’re making a few bucks a month, maybe even a few hundred. This is not a real business. This is just making a few bucks.
Okay, here’s an example of a REAL business. Andrew Cavanagh is a top notch copywriter. He advertises his services as a copywriter at the most high profile places on the Internet. He has a professionally designed website with valuable copywriting tips. He charges about $15,000 or more for each sales letter that he does. He also does business consulting for his clients to make sure that their product is presented in the best way possible. He is a TOTAL professional who is highly respected. THAT is a real business.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I am not saying that real businesses can’t struggle and random income streams can’t make a lot of money. That is not the difference between the two. The difference is, with the real business, you are in control. You set your prices. You’re not dependent on anyone else for your income. With the AdSense model. if Google decides they don’t like your site anymore and take away your AdSense account, you’re out of business. Do you see the difference?
So sit down and ask yourself if you’re building a real business or if you are putting your fate in the hands of others. If you’re doing the latter, you just might want to rethink your business model.
