In today’s age of high gas prices, you’re probably thinking that the question I asked in the title of this article refers to your automobile. Well, unless you’re taking your home business on the road, this doesn’t quite apply. I do very little driving for my home business, short of getting supplies for my PC, most of which I can get online anyway. No, I’m talking about a different kind of fuel. It’s the kind that makes every home business run. Without it, you’re looking at a failed one. Hopefully, this article will come in handy.

Fuel for your business comes in many forms. Probably the most important form is what you yourself supply. I’m referring to your energy and commitment. The biggest reason why home businesses fail is because people simply don’t take action, or don’t take enough action. Sorry to say, but you can’t run a successful business working an hour a day. There are a number of things that have to be done on a regular basis and those things take time and energy. If you’re not willing or able to put in that time and energy, the chances of your business succeeding are slim.

Then there is the matter of finances. This is another very important fuel that you need. I know a lot of people who think that they can run a business cheaply or even at no cost. While it’s not impossible, it is very difficult. There are some things that, while you can get them for free, don’t perform as well as the paid versions. Hosting is one thing that comes to mind. Free hosting has way too many limitations and problems to efficiently and effectively run your business. I won’t even get into advertising. Yes, there are free forms that do work, but they are slow and require a lot of time and effort to make them effective.

Finally, there is your business itself. What kind of fuel do you have in it? If you’re selling a product, is it any good? Is it something that people really want? One of the biggest mistakes that people make is that they try to sell something to others that they simply have no use for. So if the components of your business are poor and don’t have the right kind of fuel, you’re going to have lots of trouble getting things moving.

You can’t drive a car, or any vehicle for that matter, without fuel. When that gas take says empty, you can’t go any farther. Well, it’s the same thing with your home business. If the tank is empty, your business dies on the road. So please make sure that you have enough fuel.

I don’t know of any Triple A for home based businesses.
