    It’s something I hear almost every single day. “How can I make money with my home business without spending any money?” Be honest. Haven’t you asked that question yourself? Maybe you’re asking it right now. Well, this article is going to try to answer that question as honestly as possible. You may or may not like the answer depending on what side of the fence you’re on.

    Let me preface my answer by saying this. Technically, almost anything is possible. I say “almost” because I’ve yet to see a guy who can breathe on the moon without a spacesuit. But give it time. Eventually they’ll invent a pill for that. Point is, sure, anything is possible. Probable is another story altogether. So let’s tackle the issue of making money without spending any.

    At the top of the list for a home business, you need some kind of web presence. If you don’t have a site, who is going to find you? Now, there are places online where you can get some kind of a site for free. Not a problem. However, and I have learned this the hard way, there really is no such thing as a free lunch. Most free sites come with strings attached. Either you have to display their ads and banners or you get limited functionality. Either way, you’re not getting an optimum solution.

    After the web site, you have to drive traffic to it. Now, there are many free ways to do this. I use many of them myself. But they take time. Unlike using something like pay per click, which can bring visitors to your site almost immediately, most free methods take a while to work. Still, you can use these and actually see a small return at first. And, if you keep at it, you can see an increase in income.

    But what about building a list of satisfied customers so that you can sell to them again and again? Sure, there are free autoresponder services out there, but you pay for those services in the form of either poor delivery or having to include THEIR ads in your email letters. Trust me, you really don’t want to share your ad space with somebody else. Can you make some sales using a free service? Sure, but you’re better off paying for a quality one.

    Point is, yes, you can make money without spending money. How much? I honestly have no idea. I have always spent a minimum of about $200 a month on advertising at several hundred on hosting, domains, autoresponders and other items monthly. And yes, each of these things have significantly added to my bottom line.

    One more thing. What you don’t pay for in actual dollars, you pay for in time. Because free takes time.
