Home Business Tips – Giving Value First
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsValue…it is the most abused word when it comes to home businesses. So many home business owners thing that they’re providing value to their customers. Well, if you read Dr. Mani’s Value First Manifesto, you might not think so much about what you’re providing for your customers. If anything, you might realize that you’re short changing them quite a bit.
Let me first go over the main points of his manifesto so you can basically understand the general idea behind it. In it, Dr. Mani proposes that instead of forcing people to opt into a list of some kind in order to get some valuable information from you that you provide this information with no strings attached. Maybe offer free downloads on your blog with no opt in required. Heck, maybe just post the info right on the blog itself.
Then, after you’ve given them all this info, offer even more info for an opt in. While on your list, make sure that you regularly email them information that will help them with their business or problem, whatever it may be. Give as much info as possible. Finally, if you do have something to sell them, make it at a price that is so affordable that the decision to purchase is painless. And then, after the purchase, follow up with the customer and make sure that they have everything they need.
Wow…sounds like utopia doesn’t it. For some people, this may indeed be an ideal dream. The question you have to ask is simple. Is it all that easy? After all, there is only so much information to go around on any one subject. How much can you give away before there is nothing left to sell? And if you do sell it at such a low price that the decision to buy is painless, will you be able to survive on the income, let alone live a comfortable life?
Dr. Mani believes that the more you give, the more you WILL get in return. What do you think? No, I’m not going to provide you with the answer. This is something that you need to work out for yourself. See, until you develop the proper mindset with your business, you’re never truly going to have the success that you can have. This is something that you have to do on your own.
I already know what I believe.
And it works very well for me.
