Home Business Tips – How Good Do You Really Have to Be?

There’s a funny thing about the truth. It doesn’t always have the same effect. It really depends on what the truth is. If it’s the truth about a new disease being relatively harmless, that causes people to breathe a sigh of relief. If it’s the truth that their child has a birth defect, it causes quite a bit of anguish. What about the truth about running a home business? Well, I’m going to deal with one truth in this article… how good you REALLY have to be in order to run a successful one. You may or may not want to read this.

I’d like you to do me a favor before you even read this article. I want you to think about some of the most successful sites on the Internet that you personally know of. For me, one of them is Amazon. Yeah, I know…it took them YEARS before they finally started seeing a profit.

And that just BOGGLES my mind.

I mean, let’s face it… have you ever gone to their site? It’s darn professional looking. And their product selection and checkout process are excellent… painless even. I absolutely LOVE shopping there. In about 10 minutes, I can get Christmas presents for my whole family. In fact, I did just this past Christmas. And everything was delivered in time for the festive occasion.

Can you say the same about YOUR business?

Okay, I know what you’re going to say… you don’t have to be an Amazon. And the truth is, a lot of successful businesses are not. However, they are still run professionally.

For starters, they have a professionally done sales page. When you go to one, it looks like a pro did it. They also have an excellent product…something of real value that a lot of people want. The checkout process is also pretty painless, if not as sophisticated as Amazon’s. Of course, if you sell digital products and use something like Clickbank or DLGuard for PayPal purchases, your purchase process can be pretty darn good.

A good site, and this is the bottom line, is one where the customer walks away from the purchase experience satisfied with what he bought and what he had to go through to get it.

    But it doesn’t stop there.

What about customer service? When somebody emails you with a question, are you prompt with your answer or do you just ignore them? Poor customer service can kill the whole experience.

I want you to take a good look at your business after reading this article and then look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself THIS question.

    Are YOU good enough?

    To YOUR Success,
