Home Business Tips – How Much Can I Make Doing This?
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsOne of the most common questions I get asked by people who want to start their own home based business is this one…how much can I make doing this? Have you asked this question yourself? I have a confession to make. When I first started, over six years ago, I asked that same question. Guess what? It’s the worst question you can possible ask and I’m going to explain not only why it’s a bad question but also why you’re asking it. It’s something that most people just don’t realize.
When I first started trying to make a living at home, I had already been working in the brick and mortar world for one boss or another for about 25 years. The only thing I knew was getting up at 7 AM, being at work by 9 AM, coming home at 5 PM and picking up a paycheck every week. That was my life and that was all I knew for 25 years. My mindset was that of a worker collecting a weekly check. So naturally, when you leave that world, as I was forced to do, you’re still in that mindset…looking for a weekly paycheck.
It is because of this that you ask that question. It’s only natural. It’s what you’re used to. But you see, here is why this question is so bad to ask. It locks you into that same mindset. You’re looking for a guaranteed income and in this business, there is no such thing. When you’re running your own home business, you’re not punching a clock. Nobody is going to tell you when to go to work and when to go home. And, along with that, nobody is going to issue you a paycheck each week. You are on your own to work when you want and YOU alone are responsible for making sure you get paid.
Because there are no guarantees with your own home business, it could be weeks, months, or even years before you see any real money. So if you enter into this with the mindset of how much can I make, you’re going to be in for quite a culture shock when and if it doesn’t pan out the way you expected.
So what’s the answer? The answer is simple. You need to go into starting your own business with an open mind and get used to working without a safety net. By not limiting yourself to the “how much can I make” mentality, you will ultimately open yourself up to the possibilities of making more money than you’ve ever seen in your life.
To YOUR Success,
