I agree absolutely with Arun about focus. It's key.

But also that unless you're focusing on generating traffic, building a list or product creation then you're probably being distracted.

Another thing that I want to add to this nice articles is focus. Sometimes we do a lot of activities and think that we are working on building a business but we might be investing time and energy in things we can do without.

It is important to chalk out what adds to your business and what does not.

There is a lot to mess around even in the name of chores. We need focus on business building activities.

You are right on Steve. But here is the real problem that you and others may already know. Starting an online business is a big time nightmare. Especially for those who are not fortunate enough to have the big bucks to purchase and follow big time Guru's who might solve their problem.

Sooo they search and find cheap or crappy b.s. marketing material that will only worsen the problem.

These folks are 100% dead on serious about their business. But the constant setbacks, scam artists, and hundreds if not millions of unscrupulous marketers that say "This Will Work" only adds to the confusion of the online wannabe business person.

Eventually they become disillusioned and become lost in a sea of quick sand.

I am not writing this from pure speculation but from doing my own research.

Steve you must have been reading my mind. My (so called) business has been floating along for the last 2 years bringing in a couple hundred a month. I keep saying tomorrow I will get started on something new, but I keep getting sidetracked into what to do next. Guess I am saying my excuse is I can't make up my mind as to what I want to do.

Thanks for the wake up call Steve

Hi Steve,

Very serious question indeed. At some point you get tired of not having an answer for that question at the end of the day.

That used to be me some time ago, but then I decided that unless I had a simple plan for what I was going to do, there was no need to sit at the computer and waste time.
