Steve Wagenheim’s Home Business Blog Everything You’ll Need To Run A Successful Home Business

A lot of people think that once they start their own home business that, after time, it gets easier. In some ways, it does. But in many ways, it doesn’t. In fact, in many ways, as you do this more and more, it gets harder and harder. What ways am I talking about? Well, keep reading this article and you’ll find out.

At the top of my list for things that don’t get easier is technology. If you look back at what we had to work with seven years ago, when I first started, it was a fraction of what we have now. And with new technology comes a big learning curve. And when you’re getting up in years, like me, it’s harder to learn new things. That’s why so many older people have trouble adapting to the Internet in general, though there are always exceptions. But make no mistake about it…technology only makes things tougher for those who aren’t up to speed with it.

But even beyond technology we have something that’s even more difficult and it’s something that most people don’t think of until I remind them of it. It’s called complacency. And make no mistake about it, we are all prone to it. Even I am, and I have one heck of a work ethic. If you think I’m kidding, take a look at all the articles I’ve written online. But trust me, I get days where the last thing I want to do is any more work. I already have more than I need, financially, and only continue doing this to keep from going crazy. But it does get harder to keep going at your old pace once you reach a point where you’ve had success.

Finally, there is age itself. I don’t care who you are but eventually, age catches up to all of us. I have had health issues that I’ve had to deal with for over 20 years now. And they’re not going to get better as I age, just worse. Working through pain is tough when you’re young. Try it when you’re over 50, or 60, or 70. It doesn’t get easier.

My point is, while you might get more smarts as you do this longer, you will find that running your business still takes work and still takes its toll on your body, unless of course you just outsource the whole operation. Not many people, at least at the beginning, are in that position. And then there are outsourcing nightmares that you have to deal with. That’s another kind of stress.

So if you’re thinking that this whole home business thing gets easier as you do it longer, think again.

    It isn’t necessarily so.

    To YOUR Success,
