Home Business Tips – No Ticky No Washy
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsThere was an old saying that used to go around when I was growing up as a kid. It was, “no ticky, no washy.” What this meant was that if you went to the dry cleaners to get your wash and you didn’t have a claim ticket, you didn’t get your wash. Well, at least not without a lot of hassle proving who you were. It was not a pretty sight. Okay, so what does this have to do with running a home business? Well, there are going to be many aspects of running your business where proving who you are and verifying credentials is going to be important. In this article, I’m going to cover a couple of these.
Probably the most common problem that people have is when their credit cards expire. Depending on how many services you subscribe to, this could be a major headache, especially during that time when your credit card info has to be changed at each and every site that you belong to. For me (I belong to many services) this is a nightmare time for me. Fortunately, I have all my login and personal info that I need in order to make the changes. Unfortunately, some people lose this info and have no way of logging into the site in question to change their credit card info. This leads to expiration of services. If you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about.
Another area where you run into problems is when you purchase a product and need support. Many companies will ask you to provide the receipt number in order to give this support. Most of these receipts are emailed to each purchaser. Unfortunately, some people either delete their emails or forget where they put them. Me? I have a folder where I keep every single receipt from every single product I have ever purchased. So if I need a receipt number for any reason, I have it. And believe me, I have needed these receipts on more than one occasion.
I’m sure you can probably think of other situations where no ticky meant no washy for you. It’s pretty frustrating isn’t it, when you know that you have the rights to access a certain product or service but because you either lost your receipt or login info, you can’t get the product you’re entitled to. You then have to write to the company, providing all kinds of info to prove who you are. It’s not a fun experience. So please make sure you keep your receipts.
You never know when you’re going to need them.
