I’ve noticed that we are now living in a “give it to me now” world. You got to a fast food restaurant and the only thing that takes any time at all is parking the car. If we can have it yesterday, we’d take it. The problem is, when it comes to running a home business, you can’t have it all at once or right away. And you can’t do 10 things at one time. I know it’s frustrating, but it’s a reality of life that one needs to get used to.

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Okay, so what’s the answer? How do we hold back that irresistible urge to turn 10 steps into one? Well, the best way to do that is to first make a schedule. I’m not talking about one of those pie in the sky ones. I’m talking about a REAL one…one that you’re actually going to stick to.

Now, the first problem with even making that schedule, especially for people just starting their home business, is that they don’t even know what they’re supposed to do first.

Do you get hosting and a domain first?
Do you write up a business plan first?
Do you research a potential niche first?
Do you buy a computer first?

Don’t laugh. Some people get all these ideas of how to make money from home and they don’t even know HOW they’re doing to do it. And NO…you DON’T need a computer. There is still mail order, believe it or not. Many home businesses make a nice living without the aid of a computer.

Point is, if you don’t even know where to begin, you CAN’T make any kind of a schedule.

And that’s what trips up a lot of people.

So what’s the answer?

If you’re totally stumped…go seek out a professional business consultant. I know it’s going to cost a few bucks, but it sure beats spinning your wheels trying to figure out how to make a few bucks online. A business consultant will help you sort out your ideas and come up with a plan.

Once you’ve gotten that plan, the rest, believe it or not, is easy.

You simply implement the plan…one step at a time.

This is where you make your daily schedule and you STICK TO IT.

I know it’s tempting to want to buy your domain and hosting, create your web site, write your ads, setup a pay per click campaign, and God knows what else, all in one day.

DON’T do it!

For one thing, you’ll burn yourself out. For another, you’re more likely to make mistakes by tackling too much at one time…all at the same time.

Does this take discipline? Tons of it. While you’re doing one thing, your mind is thinking ahead to the 10 other things you need to do after that one thing. It’s human nature to want to do it all at once.

Fight it…or you’ll fail.

Trust me…I am speaking from painful experience.

In the long run, if you take things one step at a time and slowly, your business will be MORE profitable than if you rush through things.

And isn’t that ultimately what you want?
