Home Business Tips – Surviving the Economic Meltdown

Well, you knew this one was coming, didn’t you? If I live to be a hundred, I will never understand how people can screw things up so badly. You’ve got banks giving loans to people for $99 and a job. Great. These folk can just about buy food but we’re going to give them a car. Whoop De Do. Well, for those of us poor working stiffs who have to suffer through this bailout and the resulting aftermath, here are some tips for your home business to survive this meltdown. You’re going to need them.

First of all, stop buying all those stupid ebooks and memberships that you think are going to make you money. They won’t. The only thing that’s going to make you money is YOUR hard work. Develop a solid business plan to start out with. Do you even know how to do that? Didn’t think so. Okay, so let’s start there.

Sit down and decide exactly what it is you want to do. No, wanting to make money online is not specific enough. You have to come up with a game plan. Do you want to sell products as an affiliate? Do you want to sell your own products? Do you want to freelance your programming or writing skills? There has to be a specific thing that you want to do. No, joining some biz op is NOT a business. It’s just a way for you to go broke. Trust me, I’ve been down that road.

After you’ve decided what it is you want to do, the next step is to put that plan into operation. What are the things that you’re going to need? If you decide you want to create your own products and sell them, you’re going to need product creation tools. You’re going to need to get a domain and hosting in order to put up a web site to sell them from. You’re going to need a sales page. If you can’t write salescopy yourself, you’re going to have to hire a copywriter.

Yes, setting up a home business is a lot of work. It isn’t just joining some biz op. In the meantime, while you’re figuring all this out, save your pennies. Look for some bargains on Wall Street. Stock prices are at their lowest in years. Now may be a good time to pick up some good stocks that under normal circumstances would be very solid. Within a few months, they should be going back up.

These difficult times shall pass. Just make sure that your business is solid and your spending is under control. That is how you survive any economic meltdown.

Now if only I could find a way to survive the new TV season.
