Home Business Tips – Taking Action and Focusing
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: home base business, home based business tips, home business articles, starting a home businessNo CommentsHome business owners have problems with two areas, taking action and focusing. I’m going to briefly go over both of these areas in this article. It is my hope that after reading this, you’ll have a better chance of doing both. Without taking action and without being able to focus, you have very little chance of succeeding.
Let’s start with taking action first. It’s an overused term when it comes to running a business. People tell you to do it but they don’t tell you how or on what. This ends up frustrating a lot of people. So let me give you a tip in this area. What you want to do is keep the end goal in mind to start with.
So let’s say your end goal, at least to start, is to make $5,000 a month with your business. Okay, how are you going to get there? You first need a plan. Let’s say that your plan is to start a membership site and you decide to charge $50 a month for membership. In that case, you’d need 100 paying members to make $5,000 a month. Simple math…right? Okay, what kind if site are you going to put together? Let’s say you decide to start an autoresponder service like Aweber. Great, how are you going to put it together? What platform will you use? You continue through this thought process until you have the whole plan mapped out.
Taking action simply involves going through each part of the plan and executing it. If you need to make a to do list to do this, then make one. Ultimately, it all comes down to being able to focus on what you’re doing. And that, unfortunately, is the hard part. See, there are so many distractions around us that focusing is not easy. We have video sites, game sites, forums and even non Internet related things that distract us. Focusing becomes a real problem.
Well, the best way to get passed that problem is to do the reward system. For every task you complete, reward yourself with something. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy. It could be as simple as a snack from the ice box or even just a 15 minute break to play World of Warcraft. By breaking up the day like that, it makes it easier to focus over the long haul.
Taking action and focusing are critical if you’re going to have any success doing anything at all.
