Wheeling and dealing…it’s a skill that many home business owners fail to develop. Well, let me tell you, the art of the deal has been responsible for many a home business ending up banking six or even seven figures a year. The question is, how do we do this wheeling and dealing? In this article, I’m going to give you some tips that should more than turn you into an expert wheeler and dealer. Keep reading to find out more.

The key is digging into your bag of tricks to see what you have to offer in trade. This is assuming that you don’t have the money to outright pay for whatever it is you want. So for example, let’s say you need yourself a new web site and you don’t know HTML yourself. You don’t have the money to pay for one. Well, there are a couple of things you can do.

At the top of the list is to see what skill or service that you DO have that you can offer in exchange for the site. Some web developers won’t go for this deal. For them, it’s cash only and there’s nothing you’re going to be able to do about that. But then there are some folks out there who are in exactly your same position. They need something that they can’t pay for and are more than willing to offer something that they have in trade. Those are the people you want to be on the lookout for.

Another way to get what you want, though I use this as a last resort, is to offer the person a share of the profits. For example, you might offer that web developer 10% of the profits of your site for a period of one year. You want to make the period of time a finite period because you don’t want to have to be paying this person for the rest of your life. Naturally, you will want to have a contract drawn and signed by both parties. You’d be surprised how many people will be more than happy to agree to a deal like this. Sure, it’s a risk, but they might end up making more money than they would have if they just charged you for the service.

There is always a way to get whatever it is you need. All you have to do is use a little horse sense and think about what it is YOU have to offer…even if it is a little piece of the pie.
