Mindset is such an important part of starting and running your own home based business. All the knowledge in the world isn’t going to mean a darn thing if you don’t put it to use and do it correctly. Two of the most critical parts of creating a home business is thinking and planning. In this respect, my motto is “Think big, plan small.” If you’re wondering what that really means, hang in there. I’m going to clear up any confusion that you might have right here in this little old article.

Let’s start out with the think big part. I truly believe that one of the reasons that people don’t have the success that they’d like with their home business is that they limit themselves by what they think is possible. In other words, the thought of them someday making seven figures a year is mind boggling. They can’t comprehend ever making that kind of money because they’ve never done it before. Therefore, because they don’t believe it’s possible, their belief turns into reality. So the first thing you have to do, when starting a home business, is think big. Don’t limit yourself. Reach for the stars. With a solid work ethic and the right knowledge, you can make it there.

Okay, but then what do I mean by “plan small?” Am I talking about starting out with small goals? Not at all. I still want you to reach for that seven figure year right out of the starting gate. What I mean by plan small is this. In order to have the biggest chance for success, you have to make sure that you take everything into account. That means every little detail has to be meticulously ironed out. You can’t just go winging things. If you’re building a seven part AR series, every email in that series must be slaved over in order to get the maximum effect from each mailing. In other words, broad brush strokes aren’t going to cut it. You have to get down to the smallest details and make sure everything is just right. This may take tons of testing and refining until you have everything just so. This is what I mean by “plan small.”

If you think big, open yourself up to big possibilities, and then map out your plan down to the tiniest detail, you will give yourself the best chance to have the kind of success that you truly deserve.

    To YOUR Success,
