One thing I have always been a proponent of is keeping your options open. I’m not saying that you have to run a home business that is into everything and anything, but when opportunity knocks for something that appears to be profitable, you should at least investigate it and see if it makes sense to go after it. In this article, instead of talking in generalities, I’m going to give some specifics.

Just today, I was asked by another home business owner if I would look at his product and if I liked it, would I mind promoting it. So, I did. I took a look and not only did I like it, I saw that it fit in very well with some of my other products. So what I did was send a promotion to my list and told them that if they were to buy this product from me, I would include several bonuses with it. Well, to make a long story short, so far I am the top affiliate for this product. I put in about an hour of work.

A couple of weeks ago I saw something on the Internet concerning up and coming trends. I did some research into them. I discovered that some of these trends were pretty worthless as far as trying to make any money from them. However, I also discovered that a few of them were gold mines. So, I put up some blogs, did some simple promotion and son of a gun, I made some money that I wouldn’t have normally made. It was the easiest money I ever made too.

These are just a couple of the many examples I could give you where I simply kept my eyes open and jumped on things if they appeared to have potential. I didn’t jeopardize my regular business. I made sure that the time I spent on these other things didn’t interfere with things that I had to get done that were already making me a nice income. You do have to know where to strike the balance.

So when opportunity knocks on YOUR door, don’t be so quick to close it.

You’ll never know when you’re closing it on a potential gold mine.
