Everybody loves those lists where they tell you the best, the biggest, the longest, the fastest or whatever. Well, for you home business owners, you’re probably wondering what your most important asset is. No, it’s not your web page. It’s not your advertising. It’s not even your product. It’s something most people would never think of, but it’s absolutely the most important asset that you own. Know what it is? It’s your mind. Now, if you’re scratching your head wondering how that can be, this article is going to explain.

I started my own home business for only one reason, and I freely admit this. I lost my job and couldn’t get another one. I tried for years before finally turning to the Internet. At my age, nobody was going to hire me. So I had to find an alternative. My own home business was it. Okay, so what does this have to do with my mind? Well, being out of work for several years can really take its toll on a person. Depression can sink in easily. And then, starting a business is not easy. You don’t start making money from day one. So the early days of zero success can take its toll as well.

I went through all of that…the years of no money. But I had something going for me that nobody could take away from me. I had my mind. I had the ability to reason and work through my problems. But most importantly, I didn’t let the bad days get to me. A good part of the reason I was able to do this was because I took care of my mind. I ate right, got plenty of sleep and didn’t let stress get to me. I always kept a positive outlook no matter how bad things got.

As a result, today I run a six figure a year home business. No, it didn’t come overnight. Nothing worth while ever does. But through perseverance and sheer stubbornness, I made something of myself. But I couldn’t have done it had I not taken care of my mind. Without your mind, you can’t think clearly. If you can’t do that, you can’t run a business. I don’t care how great a product you have.

So take care of that asset. It’s the most important one that you own.
