Inside the Mind of a Top Affiliate – Finding a Product
No CommentsI really hope you find this to be an exciting series. I’m going to let you venture deep into the mind of a super affiliate and what he does to ultimately turn just about every affiliate promotion he does into a success. In my first article, I went over what I did to research what it was that people wanted. In this article, I am going to go over what goes through my mind when I’m looking for a product. I think you’ll find this very helpful.
Okay, at this stage of the process, I’ve already figured out what it is the prospect needs to solve his problem. Now, it’s just a matter of finding a product that is a right fit for that prospect. So what do I do? Well, the first thing I look for, if it exists, is a product creator who I already know and trust. The reason for this is simple. There are a lot of great sales pages out there with compelling descriptions but when you actually get a hold of the product, it stinks. So I try to find somebody with a good reputation for selling quality products.
Next on my list is to look at the price of the product. Why do I do this? Because in doing my research, one of the questions I ask prospects is what they would pay for this product. There is no sense recommending a product that costs $97 if 80% of the people you survey won’t pay more than $37 for the solution. Every solution on this planet has a value attached to it. Go to high about that perceived value and you’re going to lose a large portion of your market.
Finally, I look at the sales page to make sure that it’s well written and doesn’t have any holes in it. What do I mean by holes? I’m referring to outside links that might distract a prospect away from the sales page. Pages that have links to blogs, or worse, their affiliate program, are killers. Now, in some niches, this isn’t always a bad thing. Somebody looking for an acne cure is unlikely to care about purchasing the product via his affiliate link. However, if you’re selling a make money related product, this could be a very bad thing.
Naturally, I want to make sure there are no bad reviews about the product. At least not too many. If I see a number of people bashing a product, I will most likely stay away from it.
If you follow the above suggestions when looking for a product to sell, you should have no trouble finding one that will convert well for you.
To YOUR Success,
