Internet Marketing Tips – 3 Tips For Staying Motivated
Filed under: Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; No CommentsBoy, is this a tough one. Guess what? You really can’t teach motivation. Trust me, I’ve tried. People are either motivated or they’re not. However, I can share with you some of the things that I do to keep motivated because believe it or not, with all the work I do and with all my success, there are days when I just don’t want to do a blessed thing. When those days come, I need to break out the big guns. I’m going to share those big guns with you today. I hope they help.
My first big gun is what I call my reward system, and let me tell you…it’s a nice little system. I am VERY good to myself. Of course I make the reward equal to the task at hand. For example, let’s say I have to finish an article. Now an article is really not such a big deal, so in this case, I’ll treat myself to something from the icebox when I’m done. Now, if it’s something like finishing a major project like an ebook, sales page and so on, then I’ll treat myself to something a lot bigger. How do you think I got my acoustic guitar? So set up a reward system for yourself. It works wonders.
Another thing I do to get motivated is break the task down into parts. Let’s take that article, similar to the one I’m writing now. Normally, I can rip through one of these in about 15 minutes. However, when I don’t really want to write, but know I have to, finishing a 400 word article can be a real chore. In this case what I do is break the article down into paragraphs. I’ll finish one paragraph and then I’ll take a little break and do something else, even if it’s not work related. Then, after a short time, I’ll get back to it. This same principle works for ebooks too…a chapter at a time.
Finally, and this is what really works for me, I look at my bills. I look at what I have to pay for during the month and realize that if I don’t do my work, the bills don’t get paid. I then look at my daughter and realize that I’ll be letting her down if I don’t do my work. Guilt is a great motivator…at least for me. I don’t know how well this tactic will work on you, but if you’ve got bills and don’t want to end up on the streets, you’ll somehow find a way to motivate yourself.
Staying motivated is especially important when marketing your products. If you don’t advertise, nobody sees your site. It’s that simple. So hopefully, these few tips will keep you motivated and keep you profitable as well.
To YOUR Success,
Steven Wagenheim
