Internet Marketing Tips – A Watched Pot Never Boils
Filed under: Home Business, Internet Marketing, Make Money Online; Tagged as: internet marketing strategies, internet marketing strategy, strategic internet marketingNo CommentsFirst of all, let me say that I can relate to this because I was a new marketer myself a long time ago. You put out your first product, or sell your first affiliate product, put out those ads and then you watch your Clickbank or PayPal account waiting for those first few dollars to come in. You might even check your accounts every hour or so. I know people who practically live on that refresh button. Well, let me tell you, a watched pot never boils. So let me suggest other things you can do with your time while you’re waiting for that first sale to come in.
For starters, after you’ve put out your ads, start working on your next project. If you don’t have anything else to promote, write up another ad. You’re probably wondering why. Well, I have learned from experience that on the Internet, ads get old very fast. After an ad is seen a few times, it begins to lose its effectiveness. Sure, new people will see it, but the old folks, if they haven’t bought after a certain period of time, the chances that they will are very slim. So start working on new ads.
Another thing you’ll want to do is begin looking for new products to sell. If you’re an affiliate marketer, there are tons to choose from. The reason I suggest this is because things happen. As much as you don’t want to think about it, products do get pulled from the marketplace, either from the product creator himself or because some lawsuit came down the road. Take a look at Google right now and all the Google products that are under attack. If you’re promoting any of them, your income could dry up overnight. So get out there and start looking for new products. It’s never good to put all your eggs in one basket.
Finally, and this is something that so few marketers know how to do, you want to get out of the house and have some fun. Get away from the computer. It will still be there when you get back. One of the most fun things for me is to go out for a few hours and then come back to find that I have all these PayPal sales that have just come in. Trust me, that’s a lot more enjoyable than watching them drip through one at a time. Besides, you need to clear your head once in a while. Otherwise, you’re not going to be able to do your best work. I am speaking from experience.
Ultimately, the sales will come in. All you need is a little confidence in yourself and a solid business plan. The rest will come.
