    Internet Marketing Tips – Are You Building Your List Or Tearing it Down?

    Everybody screams…build your list. The money is in the list and blah, blah, blah. Don’t you get sick of hearing it after a while? And aren’t you even more sick of the fact that you can’t build one to save your life? Well, if you’re not sure about whether you’re building your list or tearing it down, you might want to read this article. It contains some solid common sense advice to make the most of your list building efforts.

    Okay, first thing on my list for building your list or tearing it down is the sales pitch…as in how much are you pitching your list? There is no right or wrong here, but some lists respond better to sales pitches than others. For example, I have one list that I could pitch several times a week and never have a problem. On the other hand, I have another list that I can’t pitch at all. I realized while building it that this market is looking for free info only. Yes, sometimes you’re going to build a list that just can’t make you any money. So you need to learn how to treat your list and learn it quickly.

    Next thing on my list is how often to actually email your list. This is something that should be made known right up front. For example, I have one list where I tell people that they will receive a newsletter every week for 52 weeks. They know what to expect. If you tell your list you’re going to email them with important info everyday and then only email them once a week, they’re going to get angry. Trust me on this.

    Finally, you want to be very careful with the actual content that you send to your list. If you tell your list that you’re going to send them info on acne, don’t send them info on warts. You might think it’s related because it is also a health issue, but trust me, many people on your list may not see it that way. Send people what you say you’re going to send them and don’t deviate.

    If you follow these simple list building tips, you’ll end up building your list instead of tearing it down.
