Hey, guess what? I don’t care what it is you’re trying to sell. If you’ve got the cards stacked against you, you’re not going to get very far. I’ve seen this time and time again. John Doe decides that he’s going to promote such and such because his Uncle George said it would be a good thing. Problem is, nobody gives a rat’s behind about the darn product in the first place. Or, he’s going against marketers with lists the size of Texas and he’s trying to shoot down a water buffalo with a pea shooter. Can you see the futility in this? Which leads us to the question, are you in the wrong niche? And if so, how do you know? Well, this article is going to show you two ways to find out.

The first way is by doing keyword research for your niche. Keywords are words that a prospective customer would look up for the particular problem that they’re having. For example, let’s say you were a 16 year old kid who was planning to go to his senior prom and you woke up one morning with zits all over your face. Pretty upsetting, don’t you think? Well, since this kid is a new age kid and knows all about the Internet, he’s going to head there to find a solution to his problem. What do you think he’s going to do? He’s going to head for a search engine and type in “how can I get rid of my zits” or something like that. Okay, so what does this have to do with keyword research?

There are tools on the Internet that will allow you to see EXACTLY what these kids are typing in to treat their acne. That way, you can use these same keywords for your articles, pay per click campaigns, web sites or whatever, in order to reach that market. If the keywords you’re after don’t get a lot of searches, you’re not going to make a lot of sales, if any. It’s that simple. You want to target keywords that people are looking up a lot. That’s keyword research.

The other way to find out if you’re in the wrong niche is through checking out the competition. By going to Google and typing in these same keywords, if you find that there are 100 million sites out there targeting the same keywords, you’re going to have a very difficult time making any sales with all that competition. That’s another way to find out if you’re in the wrong niche. You want to make things as easy as possible for you.

Below is a great free report that will show you EXACTLY how to do niche research in detail. I’m sure it will help you a lot.

So, are YOU in the wrong niche?
