Of course you are. Almost everybody struggles to get traffic. It’s one of the most pressing problems of Internet marketers. It’s like searching for the lost treasure of the Incas. Well, it doesn’t have to be that way. There is no big secret to getting traffic. The problem is that many marketers starting out don’t realize that you’re only going to get so much traffic from one source. That’s why you have to diversify your efforts. To further explain this, I’m not going to give you a bunch of theory but some real world facts and figures of my own traffic generation techniques.

The first thing I recommend for anybody who is on a tight budget is to get into article writing and marketing. The reason I say this is because article marketing can be done very cheaply, if not for free even. All you need is a good article, a directory to submit to and a blog to send people to from your article so that they can read a review of the product you’re selling. It’s one of the most effective ways of generating traffic online. The reason is because people who search for things online look for content. Articles are the best form of content as they are informative and give prospects exactly what they want.

Another great way of getting traffic is through Google Adwords, or for that matter many other forms of pay per click advertising. The reason this is so effective is because people who go to your site through a pay per click campaign, if the ad itself is properly worded, are going to be finding exactly what they are looking for. It is the most targeted form of advertising there is, if done correctly. Make no mistake about it, pay per click can become very expensive if you don’t get proper training. In this area, I strongly recommend any of Perry Marshall’s books on the subject. He is the one I learned from and he’s the best. You don’t want to venture into a pay per click campaign without solid knowledge on the subject.

Something I do, that very few people do, is take out solo ezine ads with very finely targeted ezines. The reason is because the people you are reaching are most likely looking for the product you are selling if the ezine is targeted to the product type itself. This does take some research, and you do want to find ezines with a large subscriber base. But once you find a good one, you can make a great number of sales at very little cost.

These are just a few of the many ways to generate traffic to your site. The key is not to rely on just one way because each form of promotion is only going to reach a certain audience.
