As Internet marketers, we are usually more concerned with promoting our products and making sales than anything else. Unfortunately, since this is a business to business community, we sometimes have to deal with other marketers, especially when we need to purchase something for our own business. Maybe it’s a service. Or maybe it’s an ebook we want because we’re interested in learning the subject matter. This is where we have to be very careful because there are a lot of bad people out there. I have run into my share of them. In this article, I’m going to share some guidelines to help avoid getting taken in by these con artists.

One thing you want to be very careful of when purchasing a product from another marketer, especially if it’s an ebook related to making money, are the sales page screen prints. Screen prints are very common when promoting a product because they show credibility. The problem is, screen prints can be easily faked today with existing technology. So make sure you go over these screen prints with a fine tooth comb. Make sure the numbers add up, especially if they’re Clickbank screen prints. If you know what to look for, it’s very easy to spot a fake.

Another thing you want to be careful of, when hiring somebody to perform a service for you, such as coaching or mentoring, is to get recommendations from other marketers. Make sure you don’t find any bad reviews on the person. Sure, there is always going to be somebody who doesn’t like something about another marketer, but if you find a boat load of bad reviews, that should tell you that there is danger ahead. If the person asks for a large sum of money up front, even before doing anything, also be careful. I have been taken in, so I am speaking from experience.

Sadly, there are a lot of sharks out there, but if we do our due diligence and research people before we actually get involved with them, we will greatly reduce our risk of getting taken in by these hustlers.

And trust me…I am speaking from very painful experience.
