Internet Marketing Tips – Building Your Reputation

Yeah, we all know how to promote products and services. We’ve been doing it for so long that we can do it in our sleep. But what about promoting ourselves as marketers? Have you ever given that much thought? Have you been building your reputation as a marketer? Do you even care? Some people prefer to just fly under the radar, and that’s fine. If that’s you, then this article will have little meaning. However, if you’re one of those folks who wants to be known as a big time “guru” then you might want to read these few simple ways to make yourself known.

One sure way of making yourself known is to get on the radio. I’m talking about Internet radio. Probably the most popular place online is Blog Talk Radio. There, you can start your own show, talk about anything you like and get your name out there. Trust me, once people know you’re on the air and they start to listen to what you have to say, if it has any meaning, they’ll keep listening. The key is to talk about things that are relevant to what you do. Make sure you provide lots of info that will help your listeners. Then watch your reputation go through the roof.

Another great way of making yourself known is to hang out at forums. If you’re a marketer, you’ll want to hang out at marketing forums. There are tons of them all over the place. Probably the top one is the Warrior Forum. There you will find some of the biggest names in the industry. The key to forum participation is to behave yourself. That means don’t spam, don’t get into arguments and provide useful info to the rest of the members. I have a little problem with the “get into arguments” part but I’m working on it.

Finally, at least for this article, there is putting up a blog. Blogs are great. I wouldn’t be without one. The key is to update it regularly. Let readers see that you’re active online. Let them know what you’re doing. Keep the blog relevant but have fun with it. Since it’s your blog, you don’t have to be so stuffy all the time. You can be as outrageous as you want. Just don’t be boring.

There you have it. These are three really great ways to build your reputation as a marketer.
